Scotty Lago at the Red Bull’s Supernatural Event:
The super progressive snowboarding contest, held in the back country of British Colombia, cordially invited the AMP Energy Athlete to compete. During the drop in order selection, Lago manned up and put his name at the top of the list, giving him the uneviable task of guineaing the course. A bold move on his part, going first is also a definite disadvantage since the other riders get to see where the sketchy sections are.
He kicked it off with a frontside 5 off a diving board but tomahawked the landing. Picking himself up, he stomped a backside 7 off the main booter and scored a 57.60 for the run. Scotty placed 17th in the event, competing against only the best riders in the world. Transworld Rider of the Year, Travis Rice said “Scotty Lago’s first method set the tone and from there every run was next level.”

The Winter Dew Tour finished their series with the Toyota Championship, which ran
Feb. 9-12. The event featured competition for men and women, ski and board, in

Kevin Pearce Competiting at Baker Banked
Out of the 400 participants entered in the Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom, nobodys run was as special as Kevins where he made his comeback to snowboarding competitions. Pearce said he is still trying to determine what his next move is within the snowboarding world.
“That’s something I’m trying to figure out,” Pearce said. “I have no idea what I am going to do next. But it’s really good that I’m not being rushed back into anything.”

The Winter Dew Tour finished the series at Snowbasin in Utah. The event featured competition for men and women, ski and board, in the superpipe and slopestyle. Jack Mitrani places 7th in the Men Superpipe Finals.

Oslo’s Holmenkollen ski jumping arena hosted the WSC contest this year. Jack Mitrani placed in third with his highest air reaching 7.7 meters in the Quarter Pipe Challenge, so close to beating the legendary Terje Haakonsen.

“I can’t even explain what I’ve been through, to really get away and get on snow is just so special and I never knew it would be like that. When I was doing it two years ago, I took it all for granted,” Pearce told the Denver Post in December.
