Building a social media strategy from the ground up set John Jay College apart from its competition

John Jay College’s community of over 15,000 students is the most diverse among the City University of New York’s senior colleges. The College has evolved into the preeminent international leader in educating for justice, but John Jay needed to raise awareness among prospects and increase student enrollment.

To help John Jay feature some of its most relevant and significant achievements, Fuse developed the College’s first-ever, comprehensive social media strategy. The process began with an audit of the college’s key competitors, making recommendations on which social channels would yield the greatest results, and a detailed content planning calendar. Also included was social consulting to help internal staff to stay current on best practices, platform functionalities, and advertising tactics. Fuse provided on-going recommendations based on the its analysis of the College’s social media metrics.

John Jay’s social community grew by over 250% with a reach of over 9 million within the program’s first five months, giving the College increased visibility in the New York City market and beyond.
