Assoc of Surfing Professionals
The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) needed to heighten the awareness of surfing and ASP’s World Championship Tour (WCT), an international tour with twelve events on five continents that features the world’s best surfers. Fuse implemented a media relations effort focused on generating and securing widespread mainstream U.S. news media interest and editorials showcasing ASP events and surfing in general

For this campaign, Fuse developed and executed a public relations plan for the ASP which focused on delivering key information, athlete story angles, images and satellite feeds from the ASP WCT events. We targeted more than 300 outlets including:

• Mainstream publications (e.g. Men’s Journal)

• National print and broadcast (e.g. CNN and USA Today)

• Regional print and broadcast with focus on CA, FL, Hawaii

Print coverage exceeded 50 million media impressions in North America, while the satellite fed highlight reel doubled coverage for each event, culminating in CNN's first ever coverage of an ASP World Championship Tour event
